Friday 22nd September – Last day of Term 3 (school finishes at 2.45pm)

Monday 9th October – First day of Term 4

Wednesday 11th October – Nominations for BoT elections close

Wednesday 18th October – Book Character Day

Monday 23rd October – Labour Day

Thursday 26th October – Athletics Day (postponement date 27th Oct)

Wednesday 15th November – Board of Trustees Mid Term Election

Friday 17th November – Canterbury Anniversary Day

Monday 20th November – Teacher Only Day

Monday 11th December – End of year prizegiving

Friday 15th December – Last day of Term 4

SchooI Board Parent Mid Term Election 2023

Our school will be undertaking a mid term parent election for 2 School Board vacancies.
This process will start with the issuing of nomination papers to our caregiver community by Friday 22nd September 2023.
We have employed CES to undertake the election process on our behalf. This year with
legislative change, our nomination form and full instruction on how to place your nomination
into our own School’s Election website will be emailed to you if we have your email address
in our database or you will receive it by post if we don’t have your email in our database.
Nomination papers are available at the school office. The school will send any nominations on
to CES for processing upon receipt from candidates.

Nominations close on Wednesday 11 th October at 12 noon.Election day is Wednesday
15 th November.
We look forward to your participation in this process.

Summer Uniform in Term 4

Reminder that in Term 4 the full Summer Uniform is to be worn.

All students in years 1-8 must wear the sunhat during morning tea and lunch.
We have a small selection of sunhats for sale at the Office, these are $12.95 each.

New uniform (including sunhats) can be purchased from Mainland Uniforms on Wairakei Road.
Second-hand uniform can be bought and sold on our parents Facebook group.

Kapa Haka

A number of parents have commented on their children coming home singing some of our kapa haka songs – which is great to hear.

Chinese Language Week

你好 (nǐ hǎo)!

This week is NZ Chinese Language Week. We have had the privilege of having 2 Mandarin speaking parent volunteers come to share with us some stories behind some common Chinese idioms, and the origin and the evolution of the Chinese characters. Thank you so much for sharing with us and reading to us. H1 to T2 have enjoyed learning about the Chinese language.
