Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,
As you are hopefully aware our Athletics day is scheduled take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 30 October 2024.
Students can come to school in either their PE uniform or house colours. Please be aware the weather forcast is for it to be quite cool so please ensure they have warm clothing. If the event is postponed it will be a normal school day.
Postponement Information:
We are aware that the weather forcast includes some rain overnight and then a cold day with South-Westerly winds tomorrow. While we would love to run this day, looking after the welbeing of students and staff will take priority.
At this stage we continue to pray that the weather will be good, and we can go ahead as scheduled. However, it is very possible we may make the call to postpone this event until Thursday. A cold windy athletics does not make for a good day for anyone.
So that you know exactly where we are at, we will communicate with you tomorrow morning before 7:30am. You will recieve an email and a text to let you know if the event is going ahead or has been postponed. We will also update the School facebook page and Website.
Please see below the approximate schedule:
Juniors: Years 1 – 4 begin at 9am and go through until 10am. They will rotate around a number of field and fun events as small groups.
Seniors: Years 5 – 10 begin at 10am and go to 1:20pm competing in their track & field events.
Junior Sprint Events: Years 1 – 4 approximately 1:45- 2:30 pm
House Relays & Tug of War 2:30 – 2:45 pm
