Emmanuel Christian School – Enrolment Scheme Consultation

Ministry of Education consultation has begun around an enrolment scheme amendment for our school.

You can read about this proposal at  Christian Education Network Schools’ enrolment scheme amendments – Education in New Zealand  and complete the survey to place your feedback if you have any.

One area which changes relates to the priority of enrolment for siblings.  Please note that while this change is important and different views need to be considered carefully, it does not impact on the siblings of current students.  For siblings of these students the currenrt scheme would continue to apply.

All students who are currently enrolled before the enrolment scheme commences are entitled to remain enrolled.

Please read all the information on the above website before placing your feedback.

Consultation closes on 24 October 2024.

Non-Uniform Day

Wellington Hills Christian College will open at the start of 2025.  This is a really exciting project to see Year 1-13 State Integrated Christian Education provision in Wellington (currently non-denominational Christian Education is not available beyond Year 8 in Wellington).

At the early stage of this project there is a real opoprtunity for us as a school community to support this work.  There are some real needs where finiancial support would be very valuable to them.  The costs of furniture alone are quite significant.

On Thursday 17th October (Week 1 of Term 3) we will hold a non-uniform day to support Wellington Hills Christian College.  Students do not need to wear their uniform on this day.  In return we ask that they bring a donation to support this new school in Wellington.

Many of you may know Tim Kuipers, current principal of Ashburton Christian School.  Tim and his family are moving to Wellington at the end of 2024, where Tim will take up his new position as principal of Wellington Hills Christian College.

Along with any financial donations, can we please ask that you pray for this new school and for Tim and his family.  A Year 1-13 Christian School in Wellington has been a large number of years in the planning, and it is exciting to see it come into relality.

If you would like to make any donation to support this work beyond this non-uniform day these can be made directly to the school. Wellington Hills Christian College – Support

Internet Safety Parents Night

Please boook this date in your diaries for an informative and helpful presentation.  We will provide more information next term, however, this is a night to make if at all possible.

It is often easy to view these events as being only suited to older children.  Can we suggest that this is very much not the case.  This event is targeted to parents of children of all ages.

Brett is a great presenter and builds this presentation from his own personal journey and faith in Christ.
