Final Business Enterprise Lunchtime Market
|
As part of our Year 9 & 10 Economics programme, students are starting up their own business enterprise. The final market businesses will be run on Tuesdays 17th September.
The different groups will be selling food sush as pizza, hot chips, toasties, icecream and more.
Attached below, you will find an item and price list of goods so that you can have a discussion with your child about what they may like to purchase and have an idea about what is an appropriate amount of money.
Some groups will be doing a pre-order form so they know how many items they need to purchase. These orders will then be delivered to the classes at lunchtime. The attached notice below has information on how to place a pre-order.
Please ensure your pre-order for Tuesday 17th September has been handed in to the Office as soon as possible, by the end of today is preferrable but we are aware the forms went out quite late so will also accept orders on Monday morning. (16th September).

When is my child well enough to go to school?
|
Attending school on a regular basis is really important, however, we also know that there are times when a child is unwell and staying home is the best thing for them to do.
Identifying when you should keep your child home, and when they should return after being unwell can be difficult. To support you in making this call the Ministries of Health and Education have produced some guidance for parents (and schools). While this doesn’t answer every question you may have, it does provide some useful advice.
An example of this is that a child should return to school after vomiting or diarrhoea only after they have been clear from these symptoms for 48 hours (2 days).
The guidance can be found HERE

We are thrilled to share an exciting new project that we believe will bring great educational value to our school community: the creation of a school community garden. This garden will be a special place where students from both the middle school block and the juniors can come together, learn, and grow.
A school garden offers a unique opportunity for our students to connect with nature and each other. It will be a living classroom where they can engage in hands-on learning, develop a sense of responsibility, and experience the satisfaction of nurturing and caring for plants. It’s a space where students from both the middle school block and the junior classes can all participate in nurturing and caring for something special.
To bring this vision to life, we need your support. We aim to raise $1,200 to cover the costs of creating concrete pathways, ensuring the longevity of our garden. Your contribution will have a lasting impact for years to come. Any donation, regardless of size, will help us create this wonderful space for our children.
We have received donations totalling $427 so far. Thank you!
See the attached letter for more information.

A successful programme, named ‘Lego Group,’ has been developed to actively engage students to develop communication and social skills while using Lego.
The Lego Group is designed for only three children at a time (from Years 3-6), with each session lasting 45 minutes and running for 5 weeks. At this point it could be run from 3:00pm to 3:45pm in a classroom at ECS on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday over 5 weeks.
Please read the flyer for more information.
If you would like to express interest for one of your children to be part of the group can you please state your child’s name and which afternoons they could attend please email simone@emmanuelchristian.school.nz
