ECS Update Term 2, Week 10 – Friday 5th July 2024
|
|
Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome to the Term 2, Week 10 Newsletter.
As we enter the Term break it is my prayer that this period is one of refreshing. For those of you who are travelling, we pray for safety as you are away.
We have so much to be thankful for, remember to give thanks to God for who He is and all He has done, as the Psalmist says in Psalm 107:1
‘Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!’
Blessings,
Alistair

Year 1-6 School Swimming Lessons
|
Next term Year 1 – 6 students start their swimming programme at the Graham Condon Recreation Centre, with the use of the swimming instructors trained in teaching water skills, safety skills and swimming.
When students arrive at school next term they will need to have their named swimming gear in a seperate bag with them. Please ensure this (and their uniform) is well named. If Year 1 – 6 students would find it easier they may wear their PE uniform for the first 2 weeks of term as this is often easier for getting changed at the pool.
Each child will need a waterproof bag to store their swimming togs, towel, and comb. We recommend students wearing googles and some may prefer to use a cap as well. Many parents find the zip up supermarket bags are idea for carrying wet swimming gear.
Students are travelling in class groups by bus and the swimming timetable is as below. Parents are most welcome to watch their children make progress in their swimming lessons. The scheduled swimming times Monday to Friday in Weeks 1 and 2 are as follows:
All of K5 and some of K6 – 9.30 – 9.55 The rest of K6 and all of K1 – 10.00 – 10.25 H2 and K2 – 10.30 – 10.55 H1 and most of K3 – 11.015 – 11.40 Some of K3 and all of K4 – 11.45 – 12.15

Well done to all those who participated in the 40 hr Challenge this year to help raise funds for Timor Leste. We are currently less than $300 from our school’s goal of raising $2000 and know there are more donations still coming in. So, please make sure you collect your donations and get them added onto the school team page as soon as possible. Booklets and final donations need to be in by the end of Week 1, Term 3.
