Kia Ora,
As you will have seen in the last two weekly updates, this Thursday night (16th June) we are hosting a Digital Technology Parents Night “Behind the Screens”. While this has direct links to the class matterial being covered by our Year 7 and 8 classes it is relevant to all parents.
Thurday 16th June
7:30pm
Venue: Middle School Block
This is presented by ‘Attitude’ who have been working with schools and parents to support young people over the last 25 years. This is a great chance to further your understanding of how you can support your child as they navigate the use of technology.
A session to help families understand how young people are using technology today:
• What are young people even doing on their devices?
• How is screen time affecting their wellbeing?
• How can I help to support them in a world I don’t fully understand?
‘Behind The Screens’ answers these questions and more. This presentation will empower parents to understand what’s going on for their young person and how they can help them navigate the adolescent years in a rapidly changing world. If you are concerned with the impact of technology, social media, gaming and their safety online then this presentation will give you the tools and insights you need to confidently raise happy and resilient children.
Facilitated by Attitude, New Zealand (Youth Division of ‘The Parenting Place’)
Would be great to see you there.
